Summary: Rusty Johnson, CTO from sharpcloud uses ComponentOne FlexGrid for Silverlight and has created an application that looks and acts like Excel.
“We only remember 10% of what we read versus 50% of what we see,” shared Rusty Johnson, CTO of sharpcloud, a UK based company that provides a collaborative software solution that allows its users to connect and stay engaged with their customers through shared roadmaps and stories.
In a recent conversation with Mr. Johnson, he described how using ComponentOne FlexGrid for Silverlight, a powerful, full-featured third-party grid control, provides sharpcloud users a way to get their data in and out effectively. “ComponentOne FlexGrid is brilliant,” said Johnson. “You want it to look and act like Excel, and ComponentOne FlexGrid is the first control that does it properly. It makes it a cinch to edit and display since you can cut, copy, use, and manage data just like Excel.”
“That is one of the main highlights of the FlexGrid product,” said Greg Lutz, product manager at ComponentOne. “The FlexGrid is modeled after Microsoft Excel, starting with familiar and powerful keyboard handling, editing, selection, clipboard support, as well as performance and appearance.”
Johnson shared a few of the company’s success stories with ComponentOne. “sharpcloud was founded on a revolutionary idea: a visual way to co-create, share, and manage interactive presentations enabling you to get closer to your audience,” said Johnson. The screen shots below reflect how easily sharpcloud users can create very visual experiences to communicate their story more effectively.
Johnson commented on these snap shots of his Silverlight application, “What a difference FlexGrid makes. The fact that it performs so well, isn’t clunky, and that you can edit properly is a revelation.”
