What's New in Studio for WinForms 2011 v3?

This release of Studio for WinForms adds major additions for reporting and scheduling. You can now deliver complete report designing capabilities with your previewing and exporting of C1Reports. This enables you to put the power of report design in your end-users hands, thus taking some of the efforts off the developer. ComponentOne Scheduler supports a new time line view to help view and organize appointments.

Deliver Report Design Capabilities Royalty Free!

New in this release, we now give you unlimited redistribution rights of the C1ReportDesigner application and the components used within. The C1ReportDesigner provides Microsoft Access-like report creation and design through a familiar user interface. Formerly only available through ComponentOne Reports for .NET Designer Edition, you can now modify and distribute the C1ReportDesigner application royalty free with your Studio for WinForms license!

Time Line Scheduler View

Scheduler for WinForms now supports a Time Line view for displaying appointments in a horizontal layout. This view is useful when trying to see multiple groups at once to schedule a meeting. In this view the time is displayed horizontally and groups are arranged vertically, much like the ‘Schedule’ view in Microsoft Outlook 2010.

New SplitContainer Control

Create multi-panel layouts with support for resizing and collapsing content using the new SplitContainer for WinForms control. C1SplitContainer is similar to the standard SplitContainer control, but it supports more than two panels, headers, visual styles, and collapse buttons.

Excel Enhancements

• Added support for XLT formats (Excel templates).

FlexGrid Enhancements

• Added GetLocalizedString event to enable filter UI localization.
• Added Persian (Farsi) localization.

Input Enhancements

• Added support for C1SuperErrorProvider (i.e. C1TextBox.ErrorInfo.C1SuperErrorProvider property).

PDF Enhancements

• Added support for 128-bit encryption.
• Optimized performance through file caching features. Added the new UseFileCaching property to allow pages to be cached on local, temporary disk space.
• Added support for exporting hyperlinks in HTML rendered content.

Reports Enhancements

• Added support for Linq data sources (IEnumerable).
• C1RdlReport supports loading reports created with Report Builder 3.0.
• Added new QRCode field to C1ReportDesigner for rendering 2D barcodes (.NET 4.0 only).
• Enhanced C1PrintDocument serialization with a proprietary binary format to provide better performance for serializing large documents.

SpellChecker Enhancements

• New ShowSuggestions event enables you to customize suggestions in the C1SpellChecker context menu or dialog.
